But its not even your relationship with your significant other It's your relationship with yourself if I see one more person posting their workout routine they're their sauna and cold plunge the diet routine of the you know their hashtag beast mode if I see one more person posting how their parenting routine and the wonderful intricate snacks that they make for their children like all day long there is an idealized stylized version of every single aspect of our life that is so much better than the gag reel that we're living and we're watching it and we're comparing ourselves to it and our partner to it and we're going how come my partner doesn't look like that they don't look like that like all these videos of the person like getting up in the morning when you set up the camera there's someone set up a camera like and and I really feel sometimes like I'm the crazy person going guys do you not see this like do you not see this do you not see that this is what's making you unhappy you're unhappy with yourself you're unhappy with your partner you're unhappy with your relationship with your partner you comparing it to fiction and and and because it's on your phone instead of on the movie scream you think it's real

That was in fact James Sexton who is actually America’s number one divorce lawyer and New York best seller publisher,
So I had saw that clip on social media and I thought to myself, hmm that would be so perfect for the podcast!
And let me just tell yall! Everything is he has said is so very true, how we all just live fake and phony lives each and every day, and then we display these lies to our friends, family, and to everyone we are connected with.
The title of this episode is Consciousness is a weird concept, and it is very interesting to me how we are all conscious in our own respect, but then we end up falling in line with what everyone else is doing and or believing.
As if we are controlled by a meta consciousness one that lives outside of our understanding, a worldview that we are tempted to cave into and follow, but one that is not the Will of God.
Personally, I find it just so unfortunate that for some reason or another we as human beings have this propensity to be drawn towards one another, so much so that we often fuse our individual likeness together to please the majority crowd.
Like we are sacrificing who God has created us to be, we are in a sense denying God’s created likeness to follow a twisted standard the world has created.
And here’s the deeper part, all of us are doing it, there is no ringleader here, it is just a never ending s spiral to please the next person we feel inferior to,
So in this episode I want to add to our series ‘THE S-WORD” by breaking down the stronghold of temptation, why do we cave in to it, and why is it just so hard to talk about.
Let’s dive deeper into this thought of social temptation, but before that let’s first have a time of prayer,
We praise you for everything that you have given us in this day this afternoon this evening whenever people are listening to this Lord God you know that we have a drawing towards temptation a drawing towards this world as our fleshly desires kind of peek through but Lord Jesus Lord right now we are confessing all temptation through this week through today and whatever we're thinking in our intrusive thoughts the thoughts that we don't outwardly say Lord God we praise you for all that you have created in us the gifts the talents Lord Jesus and we thank you for this day as we give it back to you so lord jesus teach us develop within us self control and lord god as we press into this episode teach us all that we need to know in this present moment and jesus name we pray amen
Hey what's going on this is John West reading proverbs 10 from the national American study Bible version the proverbs of Solomon a wise son makes a father glad but a foolish son is agreed to his mother I'll gotten gains do not benefit but righteousness rescues from death the Lord will not allow the righteous to hunger but he will reject the craving of the wicked poor is one who works with the lazy hand but the hand of the diligent makes rich he who gathers in summer is a son who acts wisely but he who sleeps in harvest is the son who acts shamefully blessings are on the head of the righteous but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence the mentioning of the righteous is a blessing but the name of the wicked will rot the wise of heart the received commands but a babbling fool will come to ruin want to watch integrity walks securely but one who perverts his ways will be found out he will he who winks the eye causes trouble and a babbling fool will come to ruin the mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence hatred stirs up strife but love covers all offenses on the lips of the discerning wisdom is found but a rod is for the back of him who has no sense wise people store up knowledge but with the mouth of the foolish rowing is at hand the rich persons wealth is his fortress the ruin of the poor is their poverty the wages of the righteous is life the income of the wiki is punishment one who is on the path of life follows instruction but one who ignores rebuke goes astray one who conceals hatred has lying lips and one who spreads slander is a fool when they are many words we're all doing is unavoidable but one who restrains his lips is wise the tongue of the righteous is like choice silver the heart of the wicked is worth little the lips of the righteous fee many the fools die for lack of understanding it is the the blessing of the Lord that makes rich and he adds no sorrow to it doing wickedness is like sport to a fool and so is wisdom to a person to understanding what the wicked fears will come upon him but the desires of the righteous will be granted when the whirlwind passes the wicked is no more but the righteous has everlasting foundation like vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes so is the lazy one to those who sent him the fear of the Lord prolongs life but the years of the wicked will be shortened the hope of the righteous is gladness but the expectation of the wicked perishes the way of the Lord is a stronghold for the upright but ruined to the workers of injustice the righteous will never be shaken be shaken but the wicked will not live in the land the mouth of the righteous flows with wisdom but the perverted tongue will be cut out the lips of the righteous know what is acceptable but the mouth of the wicked what is perverted proverbs 10

But a verse that really struck out to me was verse 29 where it says, “The way of the Lord is strength for the upright, but destruction will come to the workers of iniquity.”
This world is evil…. No I’m being so serious like the days are getting darker and darker by the moment and it is way harder to take a stance for Christ and to flee from temptation,
Temptation…. This word is just so eerie to talk about, because well we all have fleshly desires and I have struggled with a few and am still going through the daily battle of fleeing from my flesh,
Right now I am walking through these fleshly desires with a community of brothers in Christ, and I am finding out that hey, everyone has something,
Trust me its way deeper than you could ever imagine,
I will say though, a desire that I have received freedom from was actually suicidal ideation and actions, and that brings this series and episode full circle, because as we are talking about THE S-WORD we are yes! Talking about the intense severity of suicide and its deadly effects on this world.
But, every desire has its roots,
Going back to what James Sexton was saying at the very beginning, where we all are living in this dream land that lets us escape the quote on quote gag-reel of life, I will say that my desire as a younger kid was to fit in and be like everyone else and long story short I became frustrated that my life did not come with nice and lovely snapchat filters no!
And the harder I tried the more depressed I become,
And I created a reality in that depression, I created my life through that moment honestly and it all just was not the true me,
So I became tired of this life, I became tired of living,
And that desire caused me to be reckless with my body via self-harm inflections,
To be honest, the blood rush of cutting myself felt good,
I felt good or at least I thought so,
And through that moment I created poetry in my sadness and depressive state,
And before we get to the creative work of the day, I just want to share with you my most profound porm I have ever written called “DAMAGE MY LOVE” enjoy.
DAMAGE MY LOVE
Love has found me,
She came like a dove,
flooded my existence everywhere I looked I was hurt,
Love has found me,
in the darkest hole she locked my chains,
burned me with her tongue, as we kissed, I saw my life flying like embers of a campfire,
love has found me,
The day we met was the day my dreams turned to nightmares but still,
As a pig to the slaughter I enjoyed every hour with her,
Love has found me,
Emotional pain has ended my life,
but love will cut my throat like a knife,
I shot my heart with the same gun she murdered my family with,
Oh, love has found me,
She painted my blood on the streets but still I kissed her lips,
As beautiful love was,
her darkness choked every breath out of my heart,
forever I will cry,
LOVE HAS FOUND ME!!!

These words will I cry as I repeatedly have my heart punched out,
shattered on the grounds of hate and despair,
love has found me,
But I never felt love, am I dead please say yes,
please say I was killed, and no one cared to bring flowers,
Love has found a crime scene with no tape because I was not worth the investigation,
LOVE NEVER FOUND ME!!!
because my emotions committed suicide in my mother’s womb.
My eyes saw the sky and the moon as I slowly.... slowly... died,
Look as I Said earlier we have the propensity to follow after everyone else to be like everyone else to fall in line with the consciousness the meta consciousness that everyone else is following but I will tell you from personal experience going down that route of temptation and whatever temptation is afflicting you it will honestly corrupt your heart so so so badly that sometimes you cannot recover from it sometimes you cannot come back from the hurt that that has plagued your heart with O as we reflect on this let's go into our creative work for the day 1st Corinthians 10 verse 13 no temptation has overtaken you except such as common to man but God is faithful who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able but with the temptation will also meet in the way of escape that you may be able to bare it
